Understanding Fascial
Compensation

Our fascia is an intricate network akin to a continuous body suit that connects every part of us, ensuring all body parts work in harmony. It's this interconnectedness that allows us to function seamlessly, but it also means that when one area is affected, the impact can be body-wide.

When we experience any form of physical distress — be it from injury, surgery, or even minor wounds — our fascia reacts.

This compensation can manifest in several ways:

  • A general feeling of being off-balance or off-center
  • Limping or a sense of being lopsided
  • A twisted or crooked posture

Such compensations are not just physical inconveniences; they can lead to more complex conditions like TMJ disorders, headaches, vertigo, ear pain, sinus pressure, and symptoms associated with carpal tunnel and rotator cuff issues. What is most important to understand is that the fascia is continuous, and when we experience discomfort it affects our whole body. While we can notice when something hurts, we may not notice that another part of the body has changed it function because of it.

Integration and Participation

In bodywork, the client's role is pivotal. It is through their active participation that real change can be achieved, which includes:
  • Integrating changes made during each session into daily activities

  • Applying new patterns of movement while playing sports or engaging in specific exercises

This active incorporation is essential for reinforcing the session's benefits and facilitating the desired improvements in how clients feel and function.

Client-Centered Bodywork

Just as with Energy Healing, our approach to bodywork is centered around the client's needs and safety. We focus on:

Building a safe environment for healing
Gaining explicit permission to work with the body's fascia
Setting clear intentions to guide the session
Providing support tailored to the individual's bodily requirement

Beyond the Session

The unique aspect of bodywork is the application of its benefits into daily living. Clients are supported in integrating the physical changes from each session into their:

Routine life activities
Sporting endeavors
Movement practices for sustainable wellness
Bodywork sessions target the root of these compensatory actions by aiming to:
  • Enhance strength and resilience in bodily structures

  • Achieve optimal alignment and improved functionality

  • Restore symmetry throughout the body
